This is an 8 1/2 x 11 inch flyer that announces the premiere of Andy Warhol’s MORE MILK, YVETTE starring Maria Montez and The Velvet Underground. This flyer was made in 1966 and presents live the Velvet Underground, Edie Sedgwick, Gerald Malanga, Donald Lyons, Barbara Rubin, Bob Neuwirth, Paul Morrissey, Nico, Daniel Williams and Billy Linich. The evening was held at Jonas Mekas Film Makers’ Cinematheque. As stated in the authentication, this flyer was produced in Andy Warhol’s factory. In 1966 Velvet Underground were still to release their debut album as Andy Warhol promoted them as a Manager.

This Velvet Underground poster is from The Trip in Los Angeles, May 3 through the 18, 1966. This poster is approximately 22″ x 14″. The Velvet Underground never finished this run of shows. The Trip was shut down after the third show. A picture from this show appears in the May 27, 1966 edition of Life Magazine.

Boston Tea Party – Boston, MA

As you can see, there are two flyers for the dates of May 26th and 27th, 1967 at The Boston Tea Party in Boston, Massachusetts. This one measures approximately 8 1/2 x 11″. This was the first performance without Nico. Her name was even crossed out on the first flyer. From what I understand, the second flyer was printed after she left the band. If anyone knows differently, please let me know. The artist is D. Arthur Hahn for the first one and unknown for the blue one.
